22 Self-Care Essentials

With this seemingly endless pandemic, I think we all need to prioritize self-care. First of all, it's pretty much the only thing we can do in confinement. Second, I think everyone is feeling the stress and anxiety that this third year of the pandemic has on our community. Without further ado, here are my 22 self-care essentials for assured relaxation.


1. Room spray - Dodo version



Nothing better to take care of yourself than prioritizing your sleep. An innovative and fun addition to your bedtime routine is a sleep-promoting room spray. Personally, I love the Bleu Lavande one. You can spray it on your pillow or just in the air in the room.

2. Electric blanket



If you're like me and you're always cold, a heated blanket is a real must. She's handy for curling up in comfort with a good book, Netflix, or even for a little pre-sleep meditation.


3. Dressing gown



I love dressing gowns. It's the perfect comfortable garment for a bath outing, but also just for lazing around in your bed all day. Nothing better than an extra comfy plush dressing gown to spend a day of pampering!

4. Slippers



I wear slippers 24 hours a day, maybe because I'm always cold. I find there is something particularly comforting about stepping into the equivalent of a cloud. Honestly, I even wear them when I'm not in self-care mode. You need it!


5. Tea



Nothing better than a good cup of tea to bring comfort. Honestly, it's good for the soul. Treat yourself to a good quality tea. Why not?


6. Planner 



Why not take some time to plan your season? Really, what better way to feel accomplished than settling down with a nice latte, a paper planner and imagining your future. Even better, see it happen by putting it on paper. 


7. Face Mask



No list of self-care essentials can exist without skin care. It's a timeless classic, don't miss it. I personally like the ones from BKIND which are gentle on my skin.


8. Yoga mat



Even if you don't do yoga, a yoga mat is essential to all movement. Even if you don't want to use it to move, it's a great tool to create a meditation space and start to practice mindfulness

9. Manicure set



We tend to neglect ourselves from day to day because we are so busy. But it feels so good to take care of us! Especially when getting a little manicure. Taking care of your appearance works wonders on our state of mind. Invest in yourself with a little home manicure kit.

10. Coloring Book



If you're feeling anxious, a relaxing activity like coloring can almost work miracles. Imagine yourself seated with a hot beverage, your crayons and your coloring book. Travel to your own fantasy world.


11. Candle



Another classic, the candle is a must for self-care. Versatile, it follows you at all times of your life. Whether you're taking a nice hot bath, enjoying a good book, or even working from home. Its relaxation scent can soothe you at any time. 


12. Covered weight



A blanket has weight has extremely soothing. It's like receiving a big hug from a bear cub. It is one of the best ways to self-care when you feel stressed or anxious. Investing in this hedge is a real game changer!


13. Kit de loungewear



Feeling cute while being comfortable is one of the best ways to take care of yourself. That's why I think it's important to invest in a good loungewear kit. Like slippers, it's like living in a cloud of comfort. It's incredible!


14. Sleep Headphones



If you need complete silence to fall asleep, you need headphones specially designed for sleep! Supposedly, these headphones have proven sleep technology that encourages its user to fall asleep peacefully. Try it!

15. A heating bag



Nothing better than a heating bag to relieve your small daily pains. If you don't have a heat bag yet, skip it. They are real lifesavers!

16. Café



If you are a coffee lover, take the time to invest in good quality coffee. It will improve your mood every morning. There is no better self-care. If you're not sure where to start, why not have fun trying several types of beans? Not only will you be working on your coffee knowledge, you'll have several amazing options in your pantry!


17. Milk Frother



I can't talk to you about coffee without bringing up the milk frother! Bleu Latte does not bear its name for nothing. I drink a latte every morning. Although I still suck at latte art, I always try to have fun making little designs and it's delicious!


18. Plants



Nothing better to increase your daily well-being than to add a little life to your surroundings! Indoor plants are perfect for adding character to your interior decor while bringing you a sense of calm. Start with easy-care plants. You will see, it is not that difficult.


19. A reading chair



To relax, you must be well settled. If you don't already have one, invest in a super comfy reading chair.


20. A luxurious body cream



There's no better feeling than getting out of the shower and creaming yourself with a body butter that smells like heaven. Personally, I LOVE Korres body creams. They smell divine and their textures are incredible.


21. Bath products



Before you cream. Take a good bath! Another self-care classic, but clearly a must. I definitely don't take enough baths. I can't wait to move into our new house so I can FINALLY take baths every day (no exaggeration here hehe).


22. A loudspeaker



You need a loudspeaker to accompany all these cocooning activities. Whether it's music, meditation, your favorite podcast or retro music. It is an essential of self-care.
