5 ways to invest in yourself that make a real difference

Investing in yourself is probably the most important investment you can make in your life. First, because it is a gesture of self-love. By taking the time to invest in your well-being or your talents, you admit that you are important to yourself and that is essential!

Whether it's developing new skills or simply taking care of your body. You put yourself first in your life and therefore send a powerful message to yourself, but also to others.

Think about it, you can't give everything you have to those around you if you don't take care to develop yourself as a person.

I call that jumping into yourself! Giving importance to your abilities is a big step in personal development and you shouldn't miss it!

It sounds complicated and you don't know where to start. Here are 5 powerful ways to invest in yourself, even if you're a beginner!

1. Professional training

Although it may seem obvious, investing in new professional skills is essential to achieving your career goals. Not only will you feel even more competent in your work, but you will be more confident in your actions.

Maybe you need to update yourself on some concepts. Or maybe you want to learn a whole new area to add skills to your toolbox. It doesn't matter, it's worth it!

Depending on your professional field, find out about certain training programs that you may be able to take at the employer's expense. It's worth seeing what's within your reach. Otherwise, there are a multitude of private training courses of all kinds and for all budgets!

Personally, when I want to master a new concept, but don't want to break my little piggy, I take a ride on Udemy. It's a great platform that offers thousands of training courses full of value and at low prices!

2. Wellness Retreats

Another obvious, but it's hard to force yourself to take a little vacation for yourself. Investing in your well-being is worth all the gold in the world. It should be your priority, even above vocational training. Quite frankly, by not taking care of yourself, you are not doing anyone a favor. Impossible to work well if your batteries are at zero. It's time to act !

There are wellness retreats of all kinds and prices. Believe it or not, there are even free ones! No excuses for not taking a weekend for yourself ;). Depending on your needs, these retreats can be very interesting to decompress and start fresh.

Whether it is a retreat of a few days or a few weeks, this is a great activity to do in addition to our daily routines. It is good to do these retreats once or twice a year to reset your energy. Besides, if you go there alone, it's like a little vacation 100% to yourself, what could be better?

3. Eat healthy

There is nothing more important than investing in our inner health. It may not seem like much, but by improving our diet, we are doing ourselves a huge service. By eating fresh, quality produce, we invest in our long-term health by increasing our chances of avoiding fatal diseases. Living a full and healthy life, isn't that everyone's dream?

Here, it's not about going crazy and radically changing our diet. First of all, you have to be informed. We know that we need to eat better, but we don't always understand why. By getting information from reliable sources, you will be able to understand the impact of your current eating habits on your health. You might be shocked, but it's the perfect catalyst to propel you toward healthy changes in your life.

When I talk about eating healthy, I'm not talking about eating only vegetables and cutting out all so-called "unhealthy" food. Sometimes it feels good for the soul to treat yourself a little. You have to find a balance.

P.S. Pay attention to your portions! No portions too small please. You have to eat your fill even if it does not necessarily correspond to what is recommended. Listen to your hunger signals, they won't deceive you!

4. Update your wardrobe

There is nothing more powerful than a woman who assumes her style! When you express yourself through your style of dress, you radiate powerful energy. Besides, when we wear clothes that look like us, we inflate our confidence. This energy of trust is transmitted not only to you, but also to others!

Expressing yourself with your style of dress is very liberating. That's why I think investing in your clothes is a great way to invest in yourself for the long term. Think about it, it can be as simple as a nice pair of pants that makes us feel like the queen of the world to boost our confidence.

Investing in your style also means investing in quality pieces that will last you for several years. No more "fast fashion"! We want beautiful quality fabrics that will last. Although it is more expensive, it is worth it. Take your time to renew your wardrobe, no need to do it all in one shopping spree. Choose your pieces quietly, you will appreciate them all the more!

Not sure what to wear when working from home? I made a lookbook: here.

5. Take care of your appearance

Believe it or not, taking care of your appearance is not vain. In fact, it's even great for your mental health. Have you noticed ? When we've been sailing in the same pajamas for a few days without taking care of ourselves, we feel all crooked... In addition, having a neat presentation is important for first impressions. Even if it shouldn't be the case, humans tend to get their first impression of others with appearance. Depending on what you want to bring out and convey, prepare your presentation accordingly.

Taking care of your appearance doesn't have to be long and complicated. If you do these few basics, you're almost at the end of the road! Here are my tips for taking care of your presentation in one step, three movements.

First, take care of your nails! With our hands, we touch everything. You can be sure that everyone sees and notices them. They are even in your own field of vision. Might as well take care of it! Make sure you always take good care of your hands (cream, etc.) and have your nails clean and filed. If you like varnish, why not add some? Good way to complete your look.

Then your hair! I can understand your laziness in the face of your mop of hair (I am too). My advice is to find yourself a style that is beautiful, clean and very easy to do. This way, you don't have to spend hours on your hair, it will always be well cared for. Believe me, it makes all the difference!

Finally, you need to take care of your skin. It is a must. Poorly cared for skin gives the impression of poor health. Again, no need to use 15 super expensive products to have beautiful skin. Just pay attention to our consumption of dairy products, cleanse your face every day and put on a moisturizer morning and evening. This is already a very good start! Oh yes, and don't forget to put on sunscreen every day.

Investing in yourself is a good idea!

Do you want a quick return on your investments? You will get it if you invest in yourself. Whether in your physical or mental health. In learning new skills or simply taking time for yourself. You will never waste your time and resources spending them on yourself.
