6 ways to perfect the art of cocooning

After summer, autumn... it's my favorite season. The color of the leaves, the fashion, the food, the temperature. I like everything !

Since I'm a big housewife, cocooning is my specialty... So here's a little manifesto for all the things I like to do when fall arrives.

Maybe it will give you some ideas for those days when you're not sure what to do but want to stay home.

Happy cocooning!

How about a good latte?

Eh yes. I personally think that there is nothing better than a comforting latte in the morning to start your day off right. Especially if you plan to spend a relaxing day taking care of yourself.

For once, take your time making your coffee. Find an interesting latte recipe. Tsé, the one you saved on Pinterest, but never had time to do? It's time !

Here are some of the recipes that I find fun: (all can be found on Bleu latte's Pinterest too)

It feels so good to take the time to make yourself a good coffee, even if you don't make a special recipe, enjoy the moment. Try to be as present as possible when you concoct it. You have a great day ahead!

No cocooning without comfort

When we say cocooning, we say comfort! Drop the pair of jeans, they are useless for this kind of day.

What could be better than a soft, oversized and extremely comfortable sweater? If you're fine with that, your favorite pair of underpants and warm slippers, why not? You are still at home.

If you are chilly, what better than leggings or the most comfortable pants you have at home.

If you are in need of relaxation clothing in your wardrobe. You definitely need to invest in the thing. Nothing more pleasant than having comfortable clothes and super cute at the same time!

Decorate

Does your home need a little pick-me-up? Why not take some time indoors to decorate your home. If you're a bit of a fanatic, you can even get into fall decorating.

If you are more of a year-round gender neutral, try to be creative! How can you make your home more comfortable? Have fun ! Add cushions, plant frames. Never mind !

You can even embark on a DIY if you are really motivated. It's like going back to childhood and doing crafts. You will really be in the zone. It's a great way to disconnect.

P.S. Don't forget the candles for the relaxing atmosphere, of course!

Cook

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I love to cook (and eat, of course). It's a big passion for me and I love trying lots of new recipes.

Whether you share this passion or not, after spending the summer outside or on the terraces, it's nice to come back to our stoves. Nothing better for a day of cocooning than to spend it making gourmet recipes. Down with the calories! We do not care. It's the perfect day to make good, rich and comforting meals.

You can go there with your classic " comfort food " recipes, good desserts. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, try something new! The great elaborate recipe that you never had time to make perhaps?

Here are some ideas:

  • A homemade pie (the whole dough)
  • Marry Me Chicken
  • Butter chicken
  • Unemployed Pudding
  • Brownies
  • A chile
  • Dumplings maison
  • A good soup
  • A coffee cake

Take care of your little self

Would you like to go to the spa? Why not bring the spa to your home? Make it a big activity. Homemade facial, meditation, hot bath, exfoliant, hair mask, manicure, pedicure, the whole kit!

We don't take enough time to take care of us. If you are planning a cocooning day, this is the perfect time. Do your head-to-toe self-care, the kind of thing you hardly ever do because you're too busy.

Set the mood and everything. It takes music, candles and if you have an essential oil diffuser it's the icing on the cake.

Taking care of yourself is good. Don't forget yourself! Even one day dedicated 100% to yourself will make you feel like a new person. Promised.

Lecture

Have you lost the taste for reading? It's time to get back to it! Start small if it's been a while since you've read. Make sure you pick something accessible that generates real interest in you.

Reading is the perfect way to escape. For me, it's like meditation. Especially when you're so lost in the story that you can't even see the time passing. Believe me, it's time to get back to it!

Settling down with a nice hot beverage, a little treat and a good book is almost touching heaven. I swear. ;)

If you're really not a bookworm, it's time to start a new Netflix series. Don't forget the popcorn!

Happy fall!

Hope you enjoyed this sweeter post this week. I wanted to have a little fun and be more "casual". Do you plan to do some cocooning activities this fall?
