How to Build Your Own Life, One Day at a Time

Here at Blue Latte & Co. Our goal is to accompany you on your journey towards your dream life. We have prepared all the tools to help you build a tailor-made life, a life that suits you. All this, gently.

The vision of a dream life is quite different for everyone and we know it. This is why we have decided to guide you through the crucial stages of this journey. No matter how you envision your future, these elements are important to follow towards achieving any goal. Whether you want to become an astronaut or simply be more rigorous about your household, it doesn't matter! You have to go through these things to get there.

Let's go!

Practice mindfulness

Of course, we are strong advocates of mindfulness at home. Also called mindfulness, mindfulness is the act of simply living and appreciating our present moment.

There are so many beautiful things that happen to us every day, they are worth appreciating. Life is short friends, it's crucial to make the most of it! Even if you haven't quite reached your ideal, don't you still have a wonderful life?

Practicing gratitude and mindfulness will truly be a catalyst towards your goals, I tell you! As the cheesy quote tells us so well: “Trust the process”.

To take notes

As you know, here we love stationery. Taking notes, whether it's on our progress, a bit of journaling, affirmations or simply writing down our states of mind, works wonders when we're trying to move towards our goals.

With the technology surrounding us left and right, we tend to forget how good it feels to sit comfortably with a nice notebook and just write. No matter what you put down on paper, it's a great way to stay present while working (consciously or not) towards creating your personal life.

The best example is to use a scheduler, of course. It's a gentle and relaxing way to track your goals while including daily affirmations.

Don't see too far

Building our ideal life requires projecting ourselves into the future enormously. Try not to go too far though. It's okay (and even better I would say) to have a vague idea of your future while knowing the direction you're going to take.

You can't plan everything. Focus on your present, while keeping an awareness of your short and long term goals. Nothing is cast in stone, let life take you from time to time!

Don't see too close

Along the same lines, you still need to have plans. As much as we like to advocate the practice of mindfulness that we must not get lost in the spirit of the yolo and have absolutely no plan that goes beyond next weekend. It’s far too difficult to stand still when you live this way.

It's tempting, I know. Especially when the very thought of planning our future feels like a montage. But focus on the little things. Your goals don't have to be extreme. If you take a step forward, it's already a step forward and that's great! Start slowly, you will see it will be fine.

We don't care about the past

Well, we did everything from the timeline. But still. After discussing the present and the future. You have to touch the past. If you want to move forward and build a life tailored to your desires, you shouldn't dwell too much on the past.

What's done is done and there's nothing you can do about it. The only thing you can do is learn and move on to the next call. Leave the heaviness (or lightness) of the past (whatever it is) behind and focus on the beautiful things that are to come.

Life is a rollercoaster of pitfalls and great successes. Nostalgia for the beautiful moments of the past will not help you move forward either.

Don't just do chores

Achieving our goals and building a purposeful life often means a to-do list as long as your arm. These tasks aren't always super fun to do, and even though they're part of the big picture, doing them can lower your spirits at times.

Make sure you don't just schedule chores for yourself. To build a life you actually love, you must appreciate your reality! Organize yourself to include activities that you enjoy (whether they contribute to your goals or not). Balance is everything: you have to make sure you don't go to extremes!

Think about your actions - do you really like it?

Do you really like the path to your "ideal"? If you find yourself hating what you do more often than not, it might be time to rethink your goals. Maybe what you thought was your ideal life isn't.

It's okay to readjust the shot along the way. Everyone learns and evolves. What you think is good for you may not be. So, feel free to review the license if you need to.

Do you listen

Listen up! There's nothing more accurate than your body and mind to tell you you're on the right track. Sometimes our intuition knows a lot more about ourselves than we think. This is not to be overlooked!

We tend to put too much pressure on ourselves when trying to achieve great things. A little pressure is good, but if it starts to affect our mental and physical health: it's time to slow down and give yourself a chance.

Listen up! It can make all the difference.

Why your goals?

Stop! Why do you do what you still do? Sometimes we get so lost in our to-do lists and goals that we lose focus. Go back to your why as often as possible. It is important.

Think carefully about the path to get to your goals, stay consistent

Consistency is everything. Even if you feel like it's taking a long time and you're getting impatient, don't let yourself demotivating! Longevity is the key. Rome wasn't built in a day. It can take time to reach your goals and you have to be aware of it.

This is why it is so crucial to have fun while going there.
